The Weeknd tried to keep a low profile Saturday while enjoying day two of the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

The artist, 33, who was spotted partying in Los Angeles recently, covered his face with a white and black bandana as he arrived arm-in-arm with his girlfriend, Simi Khadra, 29.

The After Hours artist stepped out in a black and white camouflage jacket, a black and white sweater and white pants with white sneakers.

The hitmaker placed a black billed hat atop his head and wore dark aviator style sunglasses.

Simi was sexy in a coordinated look.

She showed off her curves in a tight fitting white mini skirt with a ruched white satin top.

The influencer wore comfortable but stylish black boots with a lace-up seam in the back.

Her dark blonde hair was styled straight with curtain bangs.

She too wore dark sunglasses, and added a pop of color with natural looking lipstick.

On Friday, the MTV Music Award winner made a surprise appearance during DJ Metro Boomin’s show.

There he performed Double Fantasy from his upcoming HBO show, The Idol.

The Weeknd is one of the show’s co-creators, along with nightlife guru Reza Fahim and Euphoria writer and creator Sam Levinson.

The artist shared a photo of his performance on social media, writing ‘double fantasy??’ and tagging @theidol.

In the series, the Starboy singer stars as a mysterious club owner and leader of a secret cult.

He enters into a complicated relationship with a rising pop idol, played by Lily-Rose Depp, 23.

The show will debut out-of-competition at the Cannes Film Festival in May, as reported by Deadline.

According to Cannes Delegate General Thierry Frémaux, the Canadian singer is often a guest at the festival, although he has often arrived incognito for various screenings.

The artist, whose legal name is Abel Tesfaye, told Interview magazine, stepping into a TV show was a new challenge he was eager to accept.

‘I do challenge myself,’ he admitted, ‘and this was a challenge.’

Challenge: The Weeknd told Interview magazine he created his The Idol character Tedros as a way to challenge himself. ‘What drew me to play him was just getting to pretend to be someone else’

‘This was something that I’ve always wanted to do. Film and TV, mainly film, has always been kind of the heartbeat of everything I do artistically. If you see my music videos, even sonically, everything is so cinematic and referential to films that I obsess over.’

The singer-turned-actor said he had a variety of reasons for wanting to play Tedros in The Idol.

‘I wrote him, but what drew me to play him was just getting to pretend to be someone else.’

‘It was a challenge, because The Weeknd, obviously, isn’t me. But I drew a lot from myself to create (The Weeknd) character. Tedros is nothing like me.’
