Red River Music News:
RED RIVER — LMNOC Broadcasting is bringing a Mother’s Day Concert to Red River May 12-14. The event features country, rock and New Mexican musicians for three days of celebration.
“The 20th Annual Mother’s Day Concert is a milestone event. Its founder Darren Cordova started with his family at the softball fields in Taos,” LMNOC Broadcasting owner Chris Munoz said. “After my wife Lori and I purchased the six radio stations in 2015, we made a promise that we would keep his tradition alive. Thanks to gracious business owners and sponsors we have been able to keep the event free so that families from Northern New Mexico, Southern Colorado and all over the country can celebrate moms who are the pinnacle of each family.
“When planning this year’s event, we decided to move it to the Town of Red River for several key factors: Brandenburg Park’s walking proximity to all of the local shops, restaurants and hotel accommodations; the variety of food establishments that our listeners can enjoy while they’re visiting Red River; and the key reason was the friendly environment – business owner and locals in Red River are some of the kindest people in the world, and we appreciate their hospitality in welcoming our listeners into their community.” continues Munoz.
The event organizers would like to invite folks of all ages to Red River Friday, May 12 through Sunday, May 14 for this one-of-a-kind event that unites families, friends and neighbors in honor of mothers while preserving the traditions, heritage and culture of New Mexico.
The event kicks off 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. (doors open at 4 p.m.) with Friday night full of rock and country performances at the Red River Conference Center. Saturday and Sunday concerts at Brandenburg Park start at noon and continue until 6 p.m. (gates open at 11 a.m.) featuring a mixture of New Mexican and country artists. Saturday’s headliner is Darren Cordova y Calor and Sunday’s is Al Hurricane Jr.
There will also be a dance on Saturday night in the Conference Center featuring Darren Cordova, Candance Vargas and local country artist Sim Balky. This event is open for everyone 21 and up. Tickets to the Saturday night dance are on sale and available online at www.holdmyticket.com
“I would like to say thanks to Mayor Linda Calhoun, who has been extremely welcoming, and we look forward to having more events throughout the year in Red River,” Munoz said.
