SHINNSTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A new-of-its-kind music festival is scheduled to get underway at Ferguson Memorial Park in Shinnston August 11-12.
According to a press release from Born & Bred Music, the first annual Shindy Music Festival will highlight indie music of all genres from across the state of West Virginia.
The event will also have national recording artists headlining each night. This free event will be open to the public and will feature 20 bands over two days, food trucks, bounce houses for children, and access to the city pool, all in a family-friendly environment.
The City of Shinnston is partnering with Music Show Production, headed by famed DJ, Kevin Nicholas, to provide sound and lighting for the Shindy Music Festival.
“Shindy” is the Gaelic word that is derived from shindig; it means a larger raucous party. Event organizers say the name works perfectly for their event, combining the name of the founder of the town, Levi Shin with the word indie equaling Shindy.
The lineup will include Phil Joel (formerly of The Newsboys), Zona Hester, Heavy Hitters Band, Dream Trippers, Aristotle Jones, Emmalea Deal and the Hot Mess, Ryan Cain & The Ables, and many more.
