The Fi.Fest music festival saw ‘record numbers’ of revellers attending the one-day extravaganza in Fifield on Saturday, writes Georgina Castignetti.
Dodging the storms and basking in warm sunshine, visitors packed out for shows from headliners Scouting for Girls and danced along to chart-busting tunes from Daft, Barrioke, Elite Elton, Third Lung, The Veras and DJ OneF among many others.
For the first time, the musical festival had two stages of live music, giving fans a choice of acts to enjoy.
The Pimm’s was flowing at this year’s VIP bar and lounge and the plentiful bars and food stalls were packed with party goers
enjoying all that the festival had to offer.
A last-minute change to the line-up did nothing to dampen spirits, with chart toppers Kula Shaker flying in to save the day when The Feeling had to drop out due to a medical issue.
The crowds loved Shaun Williamson as his Barrioke tour hit the main stage, with fans lining up to get up on stage and take part in the sing-along.
There was something for all the family at Fi.Fest this year, with the Kidzone proving a roar-some success.
The giant sandpit, free inflatable zone, fairground rides and visits from a few scary dinosaurs kept even the youngest guests partying all day.
The Fi.Fest organisers said in a statement: “We can’t thank Fi.Festers enough for coming together and making the festival such an incredible event.
“There was such a brilliant atmosphere, and we loved seeing people socialise and party in the beautiful Berkshire countryside.
“Next year is only going to get bigger and better, so get your tickets early.”
Fi.Fest 2024 is scheduled for Saturday, July 13, 2024 – keep an eye on www.fifest.com for ticket release details.
