Chase Rice’s Dog “Jack” Steals The Show During Performance

[ad_1]

Most dogs are trained to sit, speak, shake, or roll over, but Chase Rice taught his dog Jack a skill that easily tops all of those tricks: stage presence.

The country singer was performing at the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Canada when it came time to sing one of his personal favorite songs “Bench Seat.”

Rice has been vocal about how important the song is to him, and even released a statement along with the song back in January. “Bench Seat” was released as a single from Rice’s most recent album I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell.

The statement that Chase Rice released with the song explained the inspiration for the story that “Bench Seat” lays out:

“My buddy was in a really dark place – to the point where he was ready to end his own life.

When he told me what stopped him it stopped me in my tracks: his dog came and laid his head on his lap, and that connection saved him.

I wanted to shine a light on the topic of mental health because this is something that makes way too many people feel alone and especially when addiction becomes part of the picture, one bad moment can have horrible consequences.

I personally know how hard it can be to ask for help when you need it, but I hope this helps start a few more conversations.”

Rice wanted to start a conversation about mental health with the song, and he ultimately did. He also introduced the world to his dog Jack with the music video, along with other social media posts that he’s made showing off his black lab.

So it only makes sense that when Rice got up on stage to perform “Bench Seat” in Canada, his best friend was right there by his side as he belted out the personal, emotional song. Fans there in attendance and on social media were loving how much of a “good boy” his dog Jack was being up on stage.

Dogs are just the best.

TikTok users couldn’t get over how well Jack was handling the big crowd. The lab was even scanning the audience at one point, almost looking like he was a part of Rice’s security team.

Comments below the video that was posted shared:

“A man and his dog. What a life.”

“That good boy was like ‘so this is what you call a job, huh?’”

“My black lab would be crowd surfing instead of being a good boy like that.”

“Just the goodest of boys.”

“Wow, Go watch the music video for this song. This performance hits different now.”

Thanks for the suggestion TikTok user, because we are going to do exactly that. The music video for “Bench Seat” is a tearjerker for sure, and features Chase Rice in the main role, with his dog Jack playing in parts of the story.

Just a warning, the video does contain graphic details and depictions of suicide:
