Shame have announced their third studio album.

The follow-up to 2021’s ‘Drunk Tank Pink’ is called ‘Food For Worms’ and will arrive on February 24 via Dead Oceans. Billed as a more expansive sound for the British band, it finds them experimenting beyond their post-punk origins, enlisting revered producer Flood to record it.

The news comes with a thought-provoking James Humby-directed video for the anthemic first single, Fingers Of Steel, which deals in indie jangly guitar and layered vocals. The clip, meanwhile, shows the band working in sweatshop conditions to try and elevate their social media presence. Frontman Charlie Steen commented:

“Self-obsession, social media flagellation and death can all be seen in this Oscar nominated performance. No one’s ever done a video like this before and when you watch it, you’ll see why. Think Casablanca, but in colour, and better.”

The band have also announced their largest UK and European tour to date, which kicks off on March 1 in Dublin and wraps up on April 28 at London’s O2 Academy Brixton. They also have North American shows in the diary for May and June. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on November 18.
