Cowboy Junkies

The Cowboy Junkies are a Canadian alternative country and folk rock band formed in Toronto in 1985. They gained prominence with their second album, "The Trinity Session" (1988), which was recorded in a single day using a single microphone in a church, giving it a distinct and intimate sound. The band consists of siblings Michael Timmins (guitar), Margo Timmins (vocals), and Peter Timmins (drums), along with Alan Anton (bass). The Cowboy Junkies are known for Margo Timmins' haunting vocals and their melancholic, atmospheric sound that blends elements of country, blues, and folk music. They have released numerous albums over the years, exploring various musical styles while maintaining their signature introspective and evocative approach to songwriting. Some of their notable songs include "Sweet Jane," a cover of the Velvet Underground song which gained them significant attention, "Misguided Angel," and "Sun Comes Up, It's Tuesday Morning." The Cowboy Junkies continue to be active in the music scene, touring and releasing albums that resonate with their devoted fanbase.
