Lettuce is an American funk band formed in 1992 in Boston, Massachusetts. The band consists of talented musicians known for their virtuosic instrumentation and dynamic live performances. Lettuce's music is rooted in funk, but they incorporate elements of jazz, hip-hop, soul, and rock into their sound, creating a unique and energetic blend. The core members of Lettuce include guitarist Adam "Shmeeans" Smirnoff, drummer Adam Deitch, bassist Erick "Jesus" Coomes, keyboardist Neal Evans, saxophonist Ryan Zoidis, and trumpeter Eric "Benny" Bloom. Over the years, Lettuce has featured various other musicians and collaborators, contributing to their diverse and evolving sound. Lettuce gained recognition in the late 1990s and early 2000s for their electrifying live performances and their fusion of traditional funk with modern influences. They released several albums independently before signing with Velour Music Group and releasing their studio albums, including "Rage!" (2008), "Fly" (2012), and "Crush" (2015).
