Black Keys - Ohio Players CD or LP in red marks the Black Keys' fourth album in five years, a testament to their relentless creative drive. Dan Auerbach explains, "We never stopped recording." Following their reunion after a five-year hiatus with 2019's "Let's Rock," and the 2021 release of Mississippi-hill-country covers in "Delta Kream," the duo swiftly returned with new originals in 2022's "Dropout Boogie." This album saw the duo collaborating with outside writers for the first time, including Greg Cartwright of Memphis rockers Reigning Sound and Angelo Petraglia, known for his work with Kings of Leon and Taylor Swift in her earlier years. (Both Cartwright and Petraglia contribute to Ohio Players as well.) This continuous burst of creativity showcases the Black Keys' versatility and their commitment to evolving their sound while staying true to their roots.
