Kitchen Dwellers Lock In Their Winter 2027 Routing, From Idaho Powder Country to Jam Cruise and WinterWonderGrass
The progressive galaxy grass quartet has announced a winter headline run built around multi night theater stands, a Miami cruise week, and a Colorado mountain festival finale.
Few bands are better suited to winter touring than one that grew up in the Montana mountains. Kitchen Dwellers, the progressive galaxy grass quartet from Bozeman, have formally announced their winter 2027 headline schedule, and the plan leans into the multi night stands that suit their long, exploratory shows. The routing anchors several regional theater runs around two marquee festival appearances, a week aboard Jam Cruise in Miami and the band’s return to WinterWonderGrass in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
How the Run Unfolds
The tour opens on Wednesday, January 27th at the Knotty Pine in Victor, Idaho, a small room just over the mountains from Jackson that fits the band’s roots in the Rockies. From there the band heads to Park City, Utah for a three night stand at the Egyptian Theatre from January 28th through the 30th, giving fans a full weekend to catch different shows. After that comes the first of the two big festival stops, with the band sailing out of Miami for Jam Cruise 23 from February 4th through the 10th.
Back on land, the band settles into Charleston, South Carolina for three nights at the Charleston Pour House on February 19th, 20th, and 21st, with a different opener each evening: Pressing Strings, 65 North Pickers, and The Dirty Grass Players. The run then swings back home to Montana, with a stop at The Pub Station Ballroom in Billings on February 25th alongside North Fork Crossing, followed by two nights at The ELM in Bozeman on February 26th and 27th, both with AJ Lee and Blue Summit, one of the fastest rising string bands in the country. The tour wraps up at WinterWonderGrass Colorado in Steamboat Springs from March 5th through the 7th.
Why Fans Pay Attention
Kitchen Dwellers began as a handful of friends at Montana State University in Bozeman who gathered in the evenings to play music, often in someone’s kitchen, which is where the name comes from. The group slowly narrowed to its four current members and grew into a touring act that has headlined its own runs from coast to coast, played Red Rocks and the main stages at String Summit, and performed on Jam Cruise before. Their fan funded album Muir Maid reached the Billboard Top 10 for bluegrass albums, a good measure of how loyal their following is. That loyalty is why a three night stand in a city like Charleston makes sense for a band from Montana.
