SAVE THE SHORELINE: A Vital Event for Coastal Restoration

Join us on Saturday, September 28th, for an essential event aimed at addressing Louisiana’s critical land erosion crisis. The “SAVE THE SHORELINE” fundraiser, hosted by Daily in partnership with the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL), will be held at Soule Café from 6 to 10 p.m. at 2549 Banks Street. This community-centric event is designed to raise awareness and generate funds for coastal restoration efforts.

Louisiana’s coastlines are under severe threat from ongoing erosion, leading to significant loss of land each year. The CRCL, a prominent nonprofit organization focused on preserving and restoring Louisiana’s coastal environments, will be present with an information booth at the event. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the CRCL’s mission and explore ways to contribute to the preservation of the state’s shorelines.

The evening promises a vibrant mix of live music, delicious food, and refreshing drinks. Local media outlets, including The Gambit and WWOZ, will be on hand to cover the event, which will also be featured in a forthcoming documentary by the Champions Of Caring. This Philadelphia-based nonprofit, with a global reach extending to Capetown, South Africa, engages over 10,000 students in various service projects. The documentary, directed by Emmy award-winner Henry Nevison, will spotlight the dedicated efforts of organizations and individuals involved in community service.

A key highlight of the event will be a silent auction benefiting the CRCL. Donations of goods and services for the auction are currently being accepted and are fully tax-deductible. Contributors will be acknowledged as event sponsors in all media coverage, offering a valuable opportunity to support a critical cause while gaining public recognition.

“We invite everyone who cares about Louisiana’s unique landscapes to join us at Soule Café,” says event organizer Austin Rapbaum. “Together, we can make a meaningful impact and help safeguard our coastline for future generations.”
