Eight Hours Every Thursday, and Not a Single Studio Track

Festival Night • Every Thursday Night • 8+ Hours of Non-Stop Live Music

A studio album is a photograph. A festival recording is the whole day: the heat, the mud, the stranger on your shoulders, the chorus you didn’t know you could scream until two hundred thousand people did it with you. JamFest was built for that feeling, and every Thursday night it gets a full evening to itself. Festival Night is more than eight hours of non-stop live music, and the rule is simple. If it wasn’t recorded live at a festival, it doesn’t get played.

That rule opens up a lot of ground. Think about where the festival tradition started and how far it has traveled. The late sixties gave us Monterey Pop, Woodstock, and the Isle of Wight, three gatherings that proved a field full of strangers could become a shared memory. Decades later, that spirit is alive on stages in nearly every corner of the world, and JamFest follows it everywhere it goes. Songs from every era and every kind of festival share the same airwaves here, from a muddy British field at dawn to a sunbaked amphitheater at midnight.

The map is wide. In North America, that means Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Newport Folk, Newport Jazz, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Telluride Bluegrass, Electric Forest, Hulaween, Outside Lands, Summerfest, Governors Ball, and our own Gathering of the Vibes. Across Europe, it stretches from Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, Download, and Roskilde to Sziget, Primavera Sound, Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop, Lowlands, Rock am Ring, Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Montreux Jazz, North Sea Jazz, Mad Cool, and Exit. In Asia and the Pacific, it takes in Fuji Rock, Summer Sonic, and Splendour in the Grass. In Latin America, it reaches Rock in Rio and Vive Latino. And the great benefit shows count too, including Live Aid, Farm Aid, the Bridge School Benefit, and Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival.

Maybe you were there. Maybe you spent a long weekend in a tent, lost your friends for three hours, and found them again during your favorite band’s last song. Festival Night is for you. It’s also for anyone who never made it, and wants to hear what all the stories were about. Pour a drink, turn it up, and let Thursday night do what the best festival days always did, stretch out into something much bigger than a playlist.
